We all love our skin when it looks radiant. However, as we age, our skin needs also start to increase and it is no more enough to just wash your face with water and soap. In order to maintain a healthy, glowing and radiant skin, it is important to take care of your skin as per it’s requirements. For doing so, it is imperative to first understand your skin type and then take measures to protect it from harmful exposure of dust, germs, pollution and radiation.

Determining your skin type

We all think we know our skin best and to some extent that is true but sometimes it is important to notice some factors that we ignore subconsciously. So how can you know for sure what your skin type is? Let’s dive deep into different skin types.

  1. Normal Skin- It is a balanced skin type. Never too oily or dry. What we mean by normal is that your skin doesn’t react easily to anything and stays neutral to it’s texture.
  2. Dry Skin- As the term suggests, if your skin gets dry or patchy too easily and constantly requires to be moisturised then you have a dry skin. After washing your skin, if you feel your skin getting too tight and itchy, then this is your skin type. Such a skin can be prone to premature ageing.
  3. Oily Skin- Such a skin type is prone to producing excessive oils even after a fresh cleanup and moisturising routine. Such oiliness is prone to promoting acne and other skin problems. This is because oily skin tends to have larger sebaceous glands which are responsible for producing more oil.
  4. Sensitive/combination Skin- This is a very complex skint type as often you might feel your skin getting too dry while other times it might become too oily. Such a skin type is also very reactive to products and gets irritated easily. If your T-zone remains oily but the rest of your face is dry, then you have a combination skin.

However, you should meet Dr. Jyoti Sharma, best skin specialist in Delhi. She is a leading consultant dermatologist and cosmetologist.

Now that we have helped you determine your skin type, let’s move to the next time i.e. A Healthy Skin Care Routine. While following the said routine, choose products as per your skin type and you will be good to go.

Steps in a Skin Care Routine

  1. It is important to keep your skin free from any kind of dirt or impurities. TO achieve that, it is important to wash your face with a suitable face wash atleast 2 times a day. If you have an oily skin, you can wash your face 3 times a day.
  2. In order to maintain the natural PH of your skin it is essential to balance it. For that purpose, it is important to use a toner which acts by maintaining the natural Ph balance of your skin.
  3. Under Eye Care- With the increased use of technology, our eyes almost never get a chance to properly rest. Therefore, it has become important to take care of your eye region because it is the most sensitive part of your face. You can do so by either using under eye masks or a simple under eye cream to keep it hydrated.
  4. Moisturize- No matter what skin type you have, it is very important to keep your skin hydrated and there is no better remedy to this than moisturizing. You might feel that skipping moisturize wont do any harm if you have a normal or an oily skin, but when we say it is the most important part of your routine, trust us. You need to restore all the hydration that was lost from your skin during the cleansing procedure.
  5. Use a sun screen whenever you step out into the sun. Use it just like your moisturizer. It helps to protect your skin from a any kind of harmful radiations that your skin might be exposed to. During summers, even if you decide to stay inside, using a sun screen is not a bad idea.

Voila, after following this routine daily, in a proper manner, you will have that glowing radiant skin you had when you were younger. To Know more Consult Best Skin Doctor In Delhi - Dr. Jyoti Sharma at Vardaan Clinc
